Caring for a landmark, layer by layer.

A phased conservation program addresses the historic fabric and building systems of one of Toronto’s defining civic landmarks. Building condition assessments and a cultural heritage character statement guide the work.

The program has included conservation and building upgrades, with construction carefully scheduled around courthouse operations. Each phase responds to the building’s heritage significance and the practical requirements of continued use.
