House on Bohemia Island

Three volumes, one island home.

Built after fire destroyed two cottages in 2012, the replacement had to remain within the width of the original footprints. Expressing the house as three volumes reduces the apparent scale of the long building.

Bedroom wings anchor the ends of the plan, with shared living spaces between them. Glass walls bring natural light inside and frame views toward the lake and the forest behind the cottage.
